SNOW

I awake this morning to find about 5 inches of snow. Am I happy ? NO

Forgive me if I do not find the pleasure and peace others in this world find as they look with awe at the white powder that lays on the ground doing nothing but freezing the earth to it's very core.

Yes, it is pretty to look at for about 5 minutes until you realize that you still have things to do. Am a tropical being I love the hot weather, I love the smell the flowers give. I love the sun kissing my skin; however winter does not offer me such pleasures.

I wonder is it safe to drive , are the roads to slick. Oh yes, and lets not forget the amount of clothes I must get myself into. How much clothes can one put on before you lose the range of motion; because you look like a giant marshmallow being eaten alive by fabric.

As I sit here and attempt to see the positive of this season, I a light bulb moment hits me like a flash of lighting. It is a blessing in disguise for me. You see when summer time comes so much do;therefore making your days full of fun activities you must get in before winter returns.

I have realized that during the winter weeks I enjoy things a little more and my appreciation for other things grow. I spend more time snuggling with my family. More time reading, writing. Winter time makes you be more creative as a mom; a lot of thinking is required to come up with fun indoor stuff to do.

So yes, I may not like the cold ocean of white powder that leaves every inch of my body longing for the summer months to return. But am grateful that God made a season for me to appreciate the small and big things in my life.

Have a warm cup of tea, comfort food, a loonggger hug with the ones you love. Accept the blessing of seeing the majesty of what God can do. How only HE can show you so many things with just some snow.
